ORGANISATION
The non-profit cultural association “Fondazione Domenico Oprandi ETS” organises the International Short Film Festival CortoLovere, now in its 26th edition, targeting Italian and foreign FilmMakers, Film Schools and specialised Institutes, Associations and Companies that have produced and are producing short films. The Festival, as well as welcoming films produced over the last three years, aims to be a place to meet and reflect on trends, production methods and possible strategies for making films today.
The 2023 edition continues with the in-depth format on the world of “CINEMA JOBS“, the many professions, sometimes of which little is known, that contribute together to make the complex and wonderful machine of Cinema work.
In each edition, a profession will be explored and described, this year exploring the profession of the “SCENOGRAPHER“.
OBJECTIVES
– To enhance the talents of young Filmmakers
– To enhance and raise awareness of film professions
– To promote audiovisual literacy
– To promote and disseminate the short film format on the national territory
– To support in every way the dialogue and the confrontation between professionals and non-professionals
– To bring young people closer to the world of cinema with tangible options
– To create a place of exchange and comparison on contemporary production methods
– To create an event that brings together old and new generations to promote an exchange that goes beyond territorial distances and cultural differences
– To support the cultural and touristic development of Alto Sebino
DATE AND VENUE
The Competition will take place on the following days: from 23 September 2024 to 28 September 2024, in Lovere (BG, Italy).
HOW TO REGISTER
Entry is FREE OF CHARGE and the deadline for submitting material is August 5, 2024. Each competitor may submit 1 (one) short film produced after 1 January 2021. The entry form must be filled in and sent online, it is available in the appropriate section of the website.

The authors of the selected short films will be notified by email and telephone and must send a signed release statement authorising the Festival to use the film free of charge and without profit.
COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS
The short film must have a maximum length of 15 minutes including opening and closing credits. The short film must also be uploaded to an online platform (e.g. Vimeo, Youtube)* and the link and any password must be entered on the entry form which must be completed in all mandatory fields. If the short film is in a foreign language, it must be subtitled in Italian.

SELECTION AND AWARDS
The short films will be selected by an internal commission of the Association chaired by the Artistic Director and will be submitted to the unquestionable and unappealable judgement of the jury selected by the Association chairing the Festival. The award ceremony will take place on 28th September 2024 at Cinema Teatro Crystal in Lovere and at the same time it will be broadcast live on YouTube on the Festival channel. The finalists will be responsible for the quality and integrity of the submitted file. The submitting of the completed entry form implies full and unconditional acceptance of these rules. On the official website www.cortolovere.it all news regarding the receipt of the works, the eventual selection phases, as well as the projection calendars, the programme of events and any other useful information will be communicated.
The Association invites the authors of the short film finalists to be present at the award ceremony and, if this is not feasible, to connect to the YouTube live broadcast during the final evening; in addition, the Association may ask the winners to connect directly via Skype or to send a video with a greetings message.
